Job Description: Theme Park Audio Technician

Type of Employment: Seasonal

Location: Hersheypark, Hershey, PA (housing provided if needed)

Dates: May 11th – September 7th

Salary: $850/week

Job Overview:
 
RWS Global is seeking a skilled Audio Technician to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio systems for our productions. The ideal candidate will have experience with live sound mixing, system setup, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality audio performance throughout the production run.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and strike venue audio systems, including any applicable upgrades.
  • Source additional system elements while ensuring minimal expense.
  • Ring out the venue and scan for wireless frequencies to eliminate interference.
  • Operate and mix audio during live performances, ensuring sound quality and balance.
  • Assist in breaking down equipment following the completion of the presentation.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled RWS/Client production meetings, both in person and remotely.
  • Prepare and organize all necessary materials ahead of meetings, rehearsals, and performances.
  • Ensure adherence to all production schedules, deadlines, and required adjustments during the process.
  • Collaborate with other production team members to achieve the overall creative vision.
  • Facilitate necessary changes and adaptations during the editing and rehearsal process to enhance the final product.
  • Provide personal tools, equipment, and software necessary for project completion, including a personal laptop if required.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all audio equipment while maintaining organization and upkeep.
  • Oversee any additional assistants if needed (subject to company approval).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and reasonable for the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Prior experience as an Audio TechnicianSound Engineer, or similar role in live entertainment.
  • Proficiency in sound system setup, mixing, troubleshooting, and wireless frequency coordination.
  • Strong understanding of live mixing techniques and ability to balance multiple audio sources.
  • Familiarity with various audio consoles, software, and live sound equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to last-minute changes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies, dress codes, and safety protocols.
